The Howard Center for Family, Religion & Society (dba World Congress of Families) is headquartered in Rockford, Illinois as a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Our official partners, over 40 in number, are spread over 5 continents and have an estimated total membership exceeding 50 million people. Our major projects include:
- World Congress of Families project. World Congresses have been held in Prague, Geneva, Mexico City, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Madrid, Sydney, and most recently in Salt Lake City (October 2015) which, as noted by one partner, “fielded some of the world’s leading pro-life and pro-family advocates during four days of strategic networking and inspirational presentations that re-energized the global pro-family movement. It was the best Congress so far and signals a resurgence in the global battle for the defense of the natural family.” In addition to the World Congresses, we have held more than 50 regional conferences worldwide.
- The Family in America: A Journal of Public Policy. Our journal has been described by University of Virginia’s Bradford W. Wilcox as “the most incisive guide to issues facing the American family today… An invaluable resource for anyone wishing to stay on the cutting edge of research on family trends.”
- The United Nations Program. We offer consultation to our network of UN policymakers, delegates, and ambassadors, and provide powerful resources such as: our acclaimed UN Negotiating Guide; our widely used reference book The Family and the MDGs: Using Family Capital to Achieve the Millennium Development Goals; and our World Family Declaration, which is endorsed by numerous pro-family organizations worldwide.
